Now the AHERF is the Sponsoring Body for the Apollo University, Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh. Apollo Hospitals Educational & Research Foundation (AHERF), the educational arm of Apollo Hospitals Group presented proposal to the Government of Andhra Pradesh, for the establishment of “The Apollo University” at Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh. The Government of Andhra Pradesh-Higher Education (HC) Department issued the Letter of Intent No.674244/ECE/A2/2018 dated 22-01-2019.
AHERF was formed in 1992 with an aim to address the critical shortage of skilled resources in healthcare in India. Since then it has led the way in providing health-related education and training, offering graduate, postgraduate and continuing education programmes in Medical and Nursing Sciences, Allied Health Sciences and Healthcare Management.
AHERF is also committed to promoting basic, applied and translational research in the various specialties of Medicine and is making a significant contribution toward strengthening India’s contribution to world-class research.
AHERF has a number of reputed partnerships internationally including the UK (University College of London, the College of Emergency Medicine, the Royal College of General Practitioners, the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and the University of Leeds) and Australia (the University of Queensland and Macquarie University). Indian partners with whom AHERF is connected include IIT (Chennai), Osmania University, Dr. NTR Medical University, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and others.
The success of AHERF’s educational programmes is evident by the fact that our graduates are 100% employed, and are in high demand both nationally and internationally at leading hospitals and healthcare related institutions. As a result, we are expanding the number and variety of educational programmes in keeping with the demand and the increasing number of Apollo Hospitals throughout the country. This strategy will enable Apollo Hospitals to recruit and educate the local populace, and provide much needed healthcare services to the communities that they serve.
Now, as committed The University (Phase 1), dedicates five Post Graduate Departments namely MBA in Hospital and Health Care Management (HHCM), M.Sc in Health Informatics & Analytics, Master of Social Work (MSW), Master of Public Health(MPH) and M.Sc in Clinical Psycology from year 2019-20.
